Essentially, the value for any coin will depend largely on how available it is to the public. If the metal is rare, the coin that is made out of that metal will be worth significantly more than coins made out of a more readily available metal. During this day and age, silver is one of the most precious of all metals around the world because of how rare it is. Lately, there has been a decrease in the amount of silver mining that has taken place.
